Why Choose the Barbell Standard 1500 All-Purpose Olympic Barbell?

Engineered for Versatility

The Barbell Standard 1500 is designed to be your go-to bar for any and all barbell weight training. This bar is designed to perform across all weightlifting disciplines from Olympic lifts like the clean and jerk to heavy strength exercises like squat and deadlift. Ideal medium whip makes it versatile enough for both your explosive movements and for your heavier controlled lifts.

Balanced Knurl

This barbell features a medium knurl that offers a secure grip without being harsh on your hands, making it ideal for high-volume training sessions. The dual IWF/IPF knurl marks make it easy to position your hands accurately for both Olympic and powerlifting techniques.

Built to Last

The Barbell 1500 is forged from 188,000 PSI tensile strength steel with a 1500 lb static load, ensuring the 28.5mm shaft can withstand even the most demanding training programs. The durable bright zinc finish is corrosion resistant to keep it in top condition for years to come, whether in a commercial gym or as part of your home gym setup.

Precision Spin

The Barbell Standard 1500 Olympic Barbell is uniquely equipped with both needle bearings and bronze bushings to create the quick and consistent rotation crucial for Olympic lifts, along with the durability and longevity needed for heavy powerlifting.

10 Year Warranty

We stand behind the quality of our products, and the Barbell Standard 1500 is no exception with its ten year warranty, giving you confidence that your barbell is backed by a company that stands behind its products. Whether you're just getting started with your weightlifting journey or you're an experienced athlete, the Barbell Standard 1500 offers the performance and reliability you need to make fast and consistent progress.

Barbell 1500 Olympic All-Purpose Bar and Weight Set FAQ

What's included in a Barbell 1500 Weight Set?

All of our Barbel 1500 and Weight Sets include the Barbell Standard 1500 Olympic Barbell, a weight set of your choice, barbell collars, and cotton weightlifting straps. Some sets may include an additional bar and pair of bar collars.

Does the Barbell 1500 Olympic Barbell have a warranty?

The All-Purpose Olympic Barbell Standard 1500 is equipped with a robust 10 year warranty to ensure that your barbell training regiment is safe and worry-free.

What type of coating does this barbell have?

The sleeves and shaft are coated in corrosion-resistant and durable bright-zinc to maintain its performance and appearance over years of heavy use.

Why does the Barbell Standard Olympic Barbell 1500 have bushings AND bearing sleeves?

This All Purpose Olympic barbell is tuned for full coverage across your weight training routine, from explosive Olympic lifts to heavy core barbell exercises like squat and bench. The Needle Bearings provide a quick smooth spin when you need it, while the Bronze Bushings provide sturdy reliability for your heaviest lifts.

What type of knurling is applied to the Barbell Standard 1500?

Our All-Purpose Olympic barbell is equipped with a medium/light knurl to keep a firm grip without roughing up your hands, featuring both IPF and IWF knurl marks and no center knurl.

What is the Barbell 1500 tensile strength?

The Barbell Standard 1500 is constructed from 188,000 PSI tensile strength annealed steel. Rated for 1,500 pounds static load, this All Purpose Olympic barbell is sturdy enough for your heaviest lifts with a balanced whip for your most explosive movements.

How much whip does the Olympic Barbell 1500 have?

This all-purpose Olympic bar is classified as a medium whip bar with 188k PSI steel 28.5 mm grip. Not quite as much whip as a pure Olympic bar with 28" grip, this barbell threads the needle to provide enough whip for explosive movements and the stability required for heavy strength and powerlifting programs.

When will my equipment arrive?

Our 45 pound plates are 1.375" thick and our 25 pound plates are 1.4" thick. The 35 pound plates are 1.5" thick. The 10 pound plates are 0.85", the 5 pound plates are 0.65", and the 2.5's are 0.45" thick.

Why is a tolerance guarantee important?

Iron weight plates from other companies can vary by 5% or even 10% from their stated weight. This means you could have a 45 pound weight on each side of the bar that varies by up to nine pounds!

No other company offers free replacements like we do for the rare case that one of your plates is outside of our market-leading 2% tolerance guarantee.

Why are Barbell Standard weight plates powder-coated?

We powder coat our plates to deliver a durable product that will stand up to the rigors of both home and commercial use. Powder coating can last up to 20 years and does not chip or peel like similar enamel coated plates on the market.

    Barbell 1500

I love the barbell, but had trouble with fedex. The barbell arrived 5 days after the delivery date. Hanging out of the tube over a foot, one end was slightly damaged where it wore through the plastic end cap, but a little sanding got rid of the rough edge. My plate delivery was by ups and everything was great. If there is some way you can seal the ends of the tube better to keep the bar inside of it. The local FedEx is brutal with packages. I want to order more items from you, but I want unless you ship them ups.

The bar is great. It survived the trip to me, so it will last me forever. Thanks, Rick

    Incredible set

For someone looking for a good basic set, with everything you need to get started, I would highly recommend this set. It comes with spring collars, wrist straps, plenty of weights, this will get you going for a good while and maybe forever.

There was 3 of the items that were backorder, but Barbell Standard was communicative and the items shipped out just when they said they would. And they even threw in a small store credit for the trouble. I was very impressed with them and will be using them for all of my needs. I already ordered their hex bar as well, and plan on getting the dumbells and more weights later.

Go with them, you won't regret it.
