Do these Bumper Plates have a warranty?

Yes, the 25 and 45lb plates have a 3 year warranty while the 10lb plates have a 6-month warranty for both home and commercial use.

Please note that mixing iron plates with bumper plates will void your warranty, since the iron plates have a smaller diameter leading to the bumper plates absorbing all of the impact.

What should I do when my bumper plates arrive?

Unlike most bumper plates on the market, your new plates don't need any time to air out the sharp rubber smell.

Our plates are coated in oil at manufacturing to ensure they arrive in pristine condition - wipe them with a cloth or mix a small amount of dish soap in water and wipe them down. Some customers have reported that sprinkling hand chalk can further help to give the plates a rock solid grip from day one, but a quick wipe down is sufficient.

How can I maximize the lifespan of my bumper plates?

It's recommended to drop the bar straight down to a padded flooring (like rubber or foam mats or a drop pad), and to keep your collars tightly secured next to the plates. This will ensure minimal impact on the solid steel insert and ensure that your plates are solid for tens of thousands of reps.

What material is best for weight plates?

Weight plates typically come in one of two types: metal weights and rubber bumper plates. Iron weight plates are more durable and deliver the distinctive sound and feel, while rubber and rubber coated plates are preferred by lifters that want to be able to drop weights from height.

We might be biased, but for us nothing beats the classic look, feel, and sound of Barbell Standard Olympic Iron Weight Plates. Bumper plates are ideal for lifters planning to do movements like cleans, snatches and jerks where the movement includes dropping the bar to the ground.

When will my equipment arrive?

Why is a tolerance guarantee important?

Iron weight plates from other companies can vary by 5% or even 10% from their stated weight. This means you could have a 45 pound weight on each side of the bar that varies by up to nine pounds!

Do Barbell Standard Olympic Weights fit on a 2" or on a 1" bar?

Barbell Standard Olympic weight plates have a 2" center hole, while standard plates have a 1" center hole. We advise not to use our 2" plates with a 1" barbell.

We offer a variety of 2" Barbells and Specialty Bars and that are fully compatible with our Olympic plates.

    Great plates except for one

    I received the 240lbs plate set within a few days of ordering and have been impressed with the quality except for one of the 45lb plates. This one plate is starting to show cracking in the edge of the rubber cover with only about a month of use. Otherwise the plates have a nice addition to my gym.

    I did quite a bit of searching before I decided to buy this 250lbs set of plates. They arrived extremely fast. The quality is great and I like the classic, all black look. I see no defects in manufacturing and they feel very solid. I own some Rogue equipment and while they do make incredible products…I’ll be honest…to me these are similar quality to some of Rogue’s mid to higher level plates…but for a ton less. I think you get more for your money with barbell standard. I’ve been lifting for well over 15 years and I’m sure I’ll have these for at least another 15 years. If you’re on the fence I would not hesitate. You won’t be disappointed.

    Great purchase

    Bought a pair of 45s. They arrived solidly packaged and in great condition, are as well built as my Rogue MilSpec Echos, and both weighed 45.2 pounds. Also, I couldn’t discern it in the online photos, but they have a nice lip that provides a great grip when moving the plates around. Would buy again.
